Our Definition of Sustainability
"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
The Brundtland Report
Carbon Footprint
We all have a commitment to reduce our carbon footprint. In ESW, we strive to educate not only members, but our university community about how we can all reduce our impact on our planet.
Our University
The plethora of environmental organizations in the University of Texas at Austin attest to the passion to sustainability that our university holds. Ranging from business to non-major specific environmental organizations we all strive towards creating a more sustainable future. It is the hope of the Engineers for a Sustainable World to connect and to work with all environmental organizations. We believe there is strength in unity, thus we are committed to form a larger sustainable community of organizations.
Corporate Supporters
We acknowledge the importance of corporate supporters for the motivation, inspiration, and future opportunities of our members. Our corporate supporters have ranged from sustainable development companies to innovative electric utility companies. We believe that support from companies in the business world is key for promoting and financing our environmental efforts on campus.
