Current Progress: We're always looking for more members to help sell smoothies and improve/maintain the cart. There are two sub-committees, a financial / organizational group and a cart management group.
Piezo Project

Specifics/Goals: Research and testing of 'homemade' piezoelectric crystals and working on a walking mat and platform design and prototype.
Current Progress: Creating a battery to hold the energy from the Piezo Crystals.
Biodiesel Fuel Project (Green Fee Funded)

Specifics/Goals: Use UT waste vegetable oil to produce biodiesel to power UT vehicles! Two phase project:
First, getting set up!
Second, expanding, with core members and a lab manager, to oversee biodiesel production, safety, and general lab upkeep. This project will move forward when the reactor is set up!
Current Progress: New reactor is at Pickle and must now be assembled

Description: To help CEC make a greenhouse out of plastic bottles at the UT Community Garden. CEC has the fund the materials so its up to ESW to help out with ideas and construction. This is an awesome way to get started and get some experience.

Description: To aid in UT's endeavor to reduce energy consumption by 20% by 2020. ESW members will have exclusive access to on-campus internship opportunities and work along UT staff assessing building functions and energy loads. For this project, ESW members will need experience.

Solar Panel installation at Perrin-Whitt High School
Description: In December 2010, students installed a 190 watt grid-tie solar panel system in Perrin-Whitt High School in Perrin, Texas. Check out the energy use of the solar panel!

Description: In 2013, a year-long project was built; a vertical garden was completed at the community garden in order to maximize food production!
